We are very excited to welcome so many dear friends and family to our wedding! We've provided some information that we hope will be useful for you when planning to make it to lovely Wausau, Wisconsin to celebrate with us!

Registry Information
We want all our guests to know that their presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift. That being said, we do have a registry, and we don't want you to have to ask around for the information. We're excited to be going a bit non-traditional by using an online travel registry for our honeymoon. Just click on this link to see our plans and how you can help us make it happen!

A Note for Those with Children
We ask that all children aged 0-6 remain at the Jefferson Street Inn Madison Room during the ceremony, where childcare will be provided free of charge, beginning at 1:30 PM. Children of all ages are welcome to attend all or part of the reception with their parents. However, complimentary childcare will run continuously through the afternoon until 8:00 PM. The Madison Room will feature movies and activities overseen by two childcare providers. Thank you for respecting our ceremony preferences!

Airport Information and Ground Transport
Local airport is Central Wisconsin Airport (code: CWA), served by American, Northwest, and United. CWA is approximately 15 miles (25 minutes) from Jefferson Street Inn, which provides a free airport shuttle for guests upon request between the hours of 8 AM - 8 PM. Jefferson Street Inn requests advance notice of flight arrival and departure times.

Other airport options are Milwaukee (code: MKE) and Green Bay (code: GRB). Flight prices are more competitive in Milwaukee, but Milwaukee is a 3-4 hour drive to Wausau. Green Bay is approximately a two hour drive from Wausau.

Transportation will be provided to and from the Ceremony from the Jefferson Street Inn. Shops and eateries are within walking distance of the Jefferson Street Inn, so renting a car is optional. CWA rental car options include AVIS, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National/Alamo. Jefferson Street Inn also has an AVIS desk in the lobby. Airport taxi service can be arranged through Courtesy Cab (715-342-8863 or 715-321-1042). 

In-Town Parking
The Jefferson Street Inn will provide all wedding guests with complimentary parking passes in their covered parking deck.  Check in at the lobby for passes.

Blocks of rooms have been arranged at two local hotels:

We have arranged special rates that are not available online. Call the hotel directly and give them one of our last names for the block. The room rate guarantee cut-off date is August 17, 2010. Reservations received after the cut-off will be accepted on a space-available basis. Prices are as follows:

Executive queen and king rooms: $99/night, plus tax
Luxury rooms: $119/night, plus tax

We also blocked rooms at the Lodge at Cedar Creek, approximately 8 miles from the wedding venue. If you have a car available and prefer a family-friendly option, the Lodge at Cedar Creek might be right for you!Guests receive complimentary passes to the onsite indoor water park. Double queen suite (4 person occupancy): $119/night, plus tax, plus additional $20 per person up to 2 persons.

Wedding Schedule

FRIDAY

Depending on your arrival time, plan to attend a Friday Night Fish Fry with other wedding guests at Hiawatha Restaurant and Lounge, 713 Grant Street, Wausau, WI, 54403 (8 block walk from Jefferson Street Inn). Served continuously from 4-10pm, this is a pay-your-own dinner option. Alternatively, just stop by for drinks. Teri and Eric will join the group around 9:00, after their rehearsal dinner. 

SATURDAY

The ceremony is scheduled for 2:30. Guests can take the free shuttle we've arranged from the lobby of Jefferson Street Inn. There will be time for a few shuttle runs beginning at 1:45, but please be in the lobby no later than 2:00 if you plan to take the shuttle. After the ceremony, the shuttle will return guests to the hotel for an early evening cocktail hour that will be followed by dinner and dancing.

SUNDAY

Teri and Eric will be available Sunday morning in the Terrace Room of the Jefferson Street Inn (near the lobby) to bid adieu to guests.

Wild and Wonderful Things To Wow You In Wausau, Wisconsin

Here are things Teri and Eric recommend in Wausau within walking distance of Jefferson Street Inn. Here is the map.

1. Eat fried cheese curds at Mint Cafe.
2. Check out family-owned Janke Book Store.
3. Visit the public library.
4. Visit the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.
5. Catch an Artsblock show at the Grand Theater.
6. Visit the Evolutions In Design Floral Shop.
7. Grab a cup of coffee at Allister Deacon's in Washington Square.
8. Visit the Wausau Depot on Scott Street (next to Hiawatha Restaurant) for a great photo op!
9. Take a step back in time at the Talent Shop (toys, clothes, furnishings, etc.).
10. Stroll along the River Edge Parkway.

Here are things Teri and Eric recommend in Wausau that will require a car. Here is the map.

1. Lookout over Wausau at Rib Mountain State Park.(Update: As of September 16, 2010, the road is closed, so no one should plan to do this, unfortunately!)
2. Play disc golf at Memorial Park (bring your own frisbees!).
3. Eat at Wausau Mine Company, the restaurant with a fun mining theme.
4. Drive to the centermost point of the Northwest Hemisphere!
5. Watch cheese being made at Bletsoe's Cheese in Marathon, WI.
6. Visit the Beaver Creek Country Store - a Mennonite natural foods store in Athens, WI.
